Bumper start to the year for PIF TICK
Allergy UK, Alzheimer’s Society, Bone Cancer Research Trust, EasyPeasy, Eve Appeal, Solving Kids’ Cancer
Six new organisations gained the PIF TICK in December 2022 and January 2023.
Allergy UK, Alzheimer’s Society, Bone Cancer Research Trust, EasyPeasy, Eve Appeal and Solving Kids’ Cancer are all now Trusted Information Creators.
Allergy UK supports people living with allergy. It provides information, a helpline, translation cards and a dietician service.
Chief executive officer Carla Jones said: “Gaining the PIF TICK shows we have a strong process for developing our health information resources.
“With so much information online, it can be difficult to know what to trust.
“This quality mark is a quick and easy way for people to be assured our information is reliable and trustworthy.”
The Alzheimer’s Society is a vital source of support for everyone living with dementia.
As well as information resources, it provides local support and an online community.
Bone Cancer Research Trust offers hope to people affected by primary bone cancer.
It has a support and information team and provides information on primary bone cancer.
The EasyPeasy app offers parenting tips and activities for parents and their children aged 0 to 5.
Founder Jen Lexmond said: “We’re proud EasyPeasy has achieved PIF TICK accreditation – the only UK wide quality mark that verifies consistently high standards for health information.
“The PIF TICK assures our users that the child development advice, ideas and support they find on the EasyPeasy app is reliable and trustworthy.”
The Eve Appeal is the UK’s gynaecological cancer research charity.
It raises awareness into five gynae-cancers: womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal.
Solving Kids’ Cancer is fighting for a future where no child dies of the childhood cancer neuroblastoma.
It provides a range of information and support for the whole family.
